This year 2023 BMW R nineT 100th anniversary Year is being celebrated by BMW so some special editions will be released. The 2023 BMW R nineT 100 Years Edition kicks off the celebration. For the 100 Years Edition, the retro-inspired R nineT features a variety of special features.
As part of BMW Motorrad's 100th anniversary celebration, two Heritage models have been introduced: the R nineT and the R 18. A total of 1,923 units will be made worldwide to celebrate BMW's founding year. They will also honor the history of the paint-on-chrome process and the boxer engine. American consumers won't be able to buy many of these units, but some will.
There are three ride modes on the 2023 BMW R nineT 100 Years Edition—dynamic, road, and rain—as well as an upgraded ABS system, traction control (acceleration and deceleration), adaptive headlight, and LED lighting throughout. A powered USB port and heated grips add creature comforts. Using that as a base, they set to work.
Chrome painted tank is the first thing you'll notice. Prior to solvent-based paint regulations, painting chrome was easier. There will be a lot more complexity in 2023.
The Classic Chrome process starts with polishing the metal tank to a high gloss, according to BMW insiders. Further treatment requires a clean, dust-free surface. Electroplating is followed by various baths. Copper, nickel, and chromium layers are applied. Chrome-plated parts are painted several times; a final clear coat covers the entire tank."

In honor of BMW Motorrad's 100th anniversary, BMW Motorrad USA is proud to present the 2023 BMW R 18 100 Years Edition, as well as the BMW R nineT 100 Years Edition. Each model will be limited to 1,923 units worldwide, a number which reflects the year in which BMW Motorrad was founded.
It was in December 1922 that BMW's chief designer, Max Friz, was tasked with drawing up a full-scale prototype of the first BMW motorcycle. It is powered by a 494cc, 8.5 horsepower, air-cooled, 2-cylinder, 4-stroke boxer engine with a displacement of 494cc. It was at the German Motor Show in Berlin in September 1923 that the first BMW motorcycle, the R 32, was introduced to the public. On the edge of the Munich's Oberwiesenfeld airfield, a wooden fence separated part of the BMW aircraft engine works from the area where the production would take place, which was soon divided off by a wooden fence. There was an unimaginable success story that began with those humble beginnings of BMW motorcycle production, a success story that would span over a century to come.
The chromed tank has been painted with Avus Black paint, while white double-pinstripes have been added on top of it. On the fuel tank of the motorbike, a badge designed for 100 Years of BMW Motorrad will then be affixed with a numbered number. In addition, the Avus Black front fender complements the vehicle's own double-pinstripe design to perfection, and the seat cover matches the tank's deluxe Classic Chrome/Avus Black color scheme effortlessly.
There are two Billet Pack Shadow packages of milled aluminum goodies that are available with BMW's Option 719 line of high-end accessory parts - front engine cover, cylinder head cover, oil filler plug, seat brackets, adjustable foot control levers, footpegs, expansion tank covers, and bar-end mirrors - in the list of items available. There are a few items that make up the Option 719 Classic package, such as the wire-spoked wheels and the black-anodized rims.
In addition to black and chrome, there is more to choose from. In addition to the black frame and fork legs, there is a black air intake on the front of the bike, while the solo seat is black and oxblood red with a backrest at the back.
There is a MSRP of $19,995 for the 2023 BMW R nineT 100 Years Edition, and it will be available for sale in the first quarter of 2023.
