All new Volkswagen ID.4 (2022 Model) Price Hiked to  $795 let's take a Full look into it.

Volkswagen has confirmed on its website that the ID.4 electric car will cost $41,995 to start in 2022, a $795 increase over last year.

Although the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has not yet tested the 2022 ID.4 electric car, that price hike is likely to be accompanied by a range increase. Last year's model was rated to go between 240 and 260 miles on a full charge, depending on configuration.

The price has now risen to $50,135, including a mandatory $1,195 destination charge.

VW plans to upgrade the vehicle's charging capacity from 125 kW to 135 kW via over-the-air updates. Volkswagen said late last year that ID.4 models would be able to communicate directly with Electrify America charging stations and that the electronic parking brake would have an automatic hold mode.

By talking to Electrify America charging stations, drivers won't need to use a charging card or an app to plug in their ID.4 EVs. Since the charging network is a subsidiary of Volkswagen, it hardly comes as a surprise since the company was formed after the automaker was caught intentionally cheating on the EPA's tests with its diesel models. See Volkswagen ID.4 models for sale.
