The 2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 family tree consists of two branches. You've already heard about the off-road-focused 2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally models. Now, let's focus on the three street-oriented 2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 GT models - the GT, the GT Pro, and the GT Explorer. The three GTs share the same basic chassis and engine, but they differ in many other respects. Check out what each Tiger 1200 GT has to offer.

1) The new T-plane triple comes with uneven firing order on all three models. There are impressive power peaks of 147 horsepower at 9000 rpm and 96 ft-lbs of torque at 7000 This is an eight-horsepower boost over the previous Tiger 1200 motor.otor. The rear wheel is driven by a lighter shaft drive. One short gap and two long gaps result in improved low-rpm power and a distinctive feel.

2) Also new is the chassis, which is lighter and narrower than before. A new frame is nearly 12 pounds lighter and has a bolt-on aluminum subframe that accommodates pillion mounts. The swingarm is three pounds lighter as well.

3) Showa is responsible for the suspension. The three GTs have semi-active suspensions. Its wheel travel drops below eight inches at each end, which is about 3/4 of an inch less than the Rally suspension.. That helps allow for an inch-lower seat height for the GTs. The GTs have a two-position seat-height design. There’s also an optional low seat another 3/4 of an inch lower.

4)Metzeler Tourance rubber is used on the cast aluminum wheels. Despite the 19- and 18-inch wheel pairing, there is still a good range of tire options available.

5)Braking is excellent, thanks to Brembo M4.30 Stylema calipers and 320mm floating discs. Radial master cylinders are handled by Magura, which have a separate reservoir and are adjustable.

6)Triumph Tiger 1200 GT has three riding modes in 2022, while its brothers get two more. All three GTs have Sport, Road, and Rain riding modes. The GT Pro and GT Explorer have an Off-Road mode as well as a user-configurable mode. There is no Off-Road Pro mode in Rally.

7)The GT Pro and GT Explorer come with aluminum skid plates, while the GT goes without. The GT Explorer comes standard with engine protection guards, the only motorcycle in the GT lineup that offers that feature. All three GTs are equipped with handguards as standard equipment.

8) With its lack of adornments, the GT is the lightest of the three, weighing in at 529 pounds. The GT Pro weighs 11 pounds, and the GT Explorer weighs 22 pounds.

9) All 2022 Triumph Tiger 1200s will have new bodywork. With less bodywork, the new GTs have a more upright stance.
