40 kilos less and 30 hp more. With these key data, the conversion of a Continental GT 650 is sufficiently described by the Argentine customizers at STG Track. The way there is the story. And it starts now.

From 650 to 865 cubic

The goal of STG with this conversion is to put a powerful motorcycle for mountain races on the sports tires. "Sport" and the 650 twin from Royal Enfield don't really fit together in the series. However, the engine has some potential. The specialists at S&S Cycle have recognized this and offer a complete tuning package for the Enfields. 

The displacement grows to 865 cubic meters with new pistons and cylinders, the cylinder heads are trimmed for pulling power, a sharp camshaft controls the gas exchange, open air filters and mapping mix more combustibles. Self-made elbow and an adapted S&S damper allow you to breathe out freely. Result: 74 HP and 80 Nm torque, which the serial twin with 47 HP and 51.5 Nm cannot counter.


Yamaha chassis

Anyone who evaluates the intervention in the engine as comprehensive will get one more thing with the extensive conversion of the chassis: The fork, brake system and rim of a Yamaha R1 RN 19 or RN22 are placed in the steering head. The rear is guided by the modified swing arm of a Yamaha R6 - also including brakes, strut and rim from the Yamaha. The swing arm has been converted to a directly hinged strut.

Body in carbon

So that STG can deduct 40 kilos of weight from the GT, the men rely on carbon: the front fender, lamp cover, radiator grilles and the rear of the Storz with the number plates are laminated from carbon fiber. The carbon is supplemented by aluminum for all kinds of components such as handlebars, levers and footrests. It remains original and has been redesigned with the top of a VF-750 tank.
