New product from Ducati company All new 2022 Ducati Panigale V4 S the expression of a new power.  Streamlined and evolved from a visual and technical point of view, the new Ducati Panigale V4 S is the protagonist in a video that highlights its character. A video proposed by Ducati on YouTube after the presentation of the model in the fifth episode of the Ducati World Première 2022 web series .

The motorbike

The innovations range from aerodynamics to electronics, from chassis to engine. On the outside, new airfoils are more compact and characterized by a double profile layout. There is an increase in efficiency with the same vertical load up to 37 kg at 300 km / h . In the lower area of the fairing there are also redefined extraction sockets to optimize the cooling and performance offered by the engine, especially when running on the track.

Aesthetically it is characterized by a new graphic design defined by the Ducati Style Center with black logos on the red-tinted fairings and on the S version the double-fabric saddle is two-tone and you can also see red tags on the black rims.
The accessories in the Ducati Performance catalog include homologated parts and others expressly defined for use on the track. Speaking of performance, racing exhaust systems can be adopted.

Ergonomics are also interesting, starting with a tank characterized by a new shape in the rear area, known as the “fit”, obtaining better support for the rider under braking, with a reduced engagement of the arms. Overall, a better insertion of the rider is favored, also optimizing the contact area of the arms in the hanging off phase, when leaning out in the middle of the curve. Then the saddle, as indicated, is flatter and has a different double fabric covering, mitigating the rider's tendency to advance when braking and also facilitating travel.

Functionality and technical aspects

The new generation electronic package features a six-axis inertial platform that detects various parameters and controls that manage the different driving phases associated with four Riding Modes: Race A , Race B , Sport and Street . On the new instrument panel, characterized by a new distribution of the functions of the external lights, the various parameters can be seen and the advanced interface includes a new Info Mode defined by the MotoGP riders and called “Track Evo” , added to the already present Road and Track. The Desmosedici Stradale engine appears as a stressed element of the structural scheme and the aluminum Front Frame is directly anchored to it. Scheme that also includes a lightweight front frame developed in magnesium and the seat post in shell-cast aluminum.

The new Ducati Panigale V4 features a Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF) adjustable fork with a diameter of 43 millimeters with a Sachs steering damper and behind an always adjustable Sachs monoshock. The wheels are cast aluminum with a five-spoke design.

Moving on to the Ducati Panigale V4 S, this presents a new Öhlins NPX25 / 30 pressurized fork with event-based electronic management, characterized by a pressurized cartridge damping system borrowed from that of Öhlins racing forks, minimizing the risk of fluid cavitation. hydraulic compared to a traditional system.

The excursion of the fork results from 125 mm , a figure increased by 5 mm compared to that fitted to the Panigale V4 of 2021. The possibility of adopting softer settings is highlighted, given a stiffness of the springs passed to 9.5 N / mm , offering greater confidence during the most intense braking sections and preserving a little margin with respect to the end of the race, as indicated.

Then there is an Öhlins TTX36 mono-shock absorber and an Öhlins steering damper, always equipped with an event-based control system, being able to customize the intensity of the suspension intervention based on the individual driving phases and vary the operating parameters of the individual. hardware components. Aspects that represent a higher level of control of the dynamics of the bike.

The pivot of the single-sided aluminum swingarm is 4 mm higher than the previous model with an increase in the anti-squat effect, i.e. a decrease in the sinking of the rear when exiting corners and when reopening the throttle.
The braking system includes in the front part of the discs with a diameter of 330 mmand Brembo Stylema® monobloc calipers with four 30 mm diameter pistons each, while behind there is a single 245 mm disc combined with a 2-piston caliper. The Ducati Panigale V4 S features 3-spoke forged aluminum alloy wheels fitted with 120/70 ZR17 Pirelli DIABLO ™ Supercorsa SP tires at the front and 200/60 ZR 17 at the rear.

As mentioned, the engine is a Desmosedici Stradale . A 1,103 cm³ unit in the Euro 5 version and evolved for 2022 through dedicated technical elements. The engine was reportedly upgraded in the lubrication circuit, paired with a new oil pump that requires less power. The increased diameter of the silencer outlets allows an attenuation of the exhaust back pressure and an increase in performance.
In addition, a new logic of the Power Modes is highlighted with four configurations: Full, High, Medium, Low and a major novelty is the adoption of a new gearbox with a lengthening of the ratio for the first, second and sixth gear. .
The power touches 215.5 horsesat 13,000 rpm and the torque is 123.6 Nm (12.6 kgm) at 9,500 rpm.
