Technique

The central area of ​​the frame and the seat itself have been defined in such a way as to facilitate the resting of the feet on the ground. The handlebar is 20 mm wider than the previous figure and on the Triumph 1200 GT Explorer and Rally Explorer models it is raised by 16 mm for the benefit of a more sustained position.
Another interesting factor is the weight containment. A more compact and light 5.4 kg tubular steel frame is highlighted, this is associated with aluminum stabilizers and a rear subframe still in aluminum. Further weight was saved thanks to the use of aluminum to also develop the tank and the twin-sided rear swingarm.

The suspension part on the Tiger 1200 GT, GT Pro and GT Explorer specimens consists of a Showa front fork with a diameter of 49 mm and semi-active damping, the travel reaches 200 mm . Behind there is a Showa mono-shock absorber and the stroke is always 200 mm , equipped with semi-active damping and automatic electronic adjustment of the preload. On the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer versions the stroke is wider, reaching 220 mm .


On each version the Brembo Stylema® braking system includes a double 320 mm floating front disc and a single 282 mm rear disc. A system equipped with Cornering ABS, also considering the work of the IMU inertial platform. On the other hand, the dimensions and types of wheel rims have changed: the GT, GT Pro and GT Explorer versions are combined with 19 and 18-inch aluminum spoke types that fit as original equipment tires for the Metzeler Tourance; while Pro Rally and Rally Explorer, given a markedly more exploratory, are matched specimens spoked tubeless from 21 and 18 inches that fit Matzeler Karoo Street tires. But it is also foreseen in the booklet of the Michelin Anakee Wild.
