With the compressor and drive of the R NineT, a BMW R 100 RT from 1992 becomes a techno motorcycle. The conversion is called R 107 K. The K stands for compressor. Boxer with supercharger

R 107 K. This is how Ben christened the conversion. At BMW, R stands for a boxer, the K stands for the compressor, the 107 are the reference to the displacement: the conversion kit from Siebenrock and the double ignition add 1,070 cubic meters. The compressor is an Eaton M24, which is known in this country from the 1.4 TSI engines of the VW Group. The screw loader runs at only 0.5 bar at Ben, primarily for the typical sound of a compressor and juicy torque in the basement. When the engine stops, Ben wants to slowly increase the boost pressure. Performance: Unknown. In the configuration, however, it should be over 100 hp. Above all, Ben will have to watch whether the charger can cope with its conversion to mixture charge: The M24 in the BMW draws in the mixture directly from the carburetor and presses it into the intake manifold. The M24 is actually designed for a pure air charge. The compressor is cooled by a methanol injection. Whichever way you come up with it.



Modern chassis in the classic

Ben leaves the main frame of the RT quite untouched. He only changes the engine mounts and raises the boxer's nose a little to create an escape from the planned final drive of an R NineT. He adapts the new swing arm to the old frame using a suspension he designed himself. The fork also comes from the BMW shelf: a first-generation S 1000 RR has bars and brakes. CNC-milled triple clamps hold the fork in the steering head. In the new chassis, the rims of the R NineT rotate with the Metzeler Sportec M9 RR.


New, old tank

At first glance, the tank looks like one of the famous toaster tanks of the / 7 series from BMW. However, the eye falls on tank covers made of carbon. Under the halves is a self-made tank for the gasoline and the aforementioned methanol. Behind the new tank is a new rear frame with a docked single seat. Closed to the rear by a single-flow exhaust system under the seat. Boxer on a diet
