All new 2022 Yamaha is raising the naked bike over the Euro 5 hurdle for model for year 2022.
The Yamaha MT-10 is a naked bike knitted around the R1 technology. The current variant only fulfills the requirements of Euro 4 and thus leads a temporary existence. Now Yamaha is making the big naked bike fit for the future and presenting its Euro 5 version. Homologation documents deposited with the EU had already shown that this is coming.

Without a torque hole and with more power

The in-line four-cylinder, derived from the R1, relies on forged aluminum pistons, an increased flywheel mass on the crankshaft and an adapted adjustment of the injection system. The exhaust system and the intake tract were also modified with a new airbox. The exhaust now relies on manifolds and a titanium silencer. The bottom line is that the four-wheeler should now deliver more torque between 4,000 and 8,000 tours. The much criticized hole in this area should be history. In addition, the four-cylinder in the Euro 5 vote increases in performance. The peak output climbs from 118 to 122 kW - i.e. from 160 to 166 hp. The maximum torque increases by one Nm to 112 Nm. The assigned speed values remain unchanged at 11,500 rpm and 9,500 rpm. The top speed increases from 245 to 250 km / h.

New front, adapted ergonomics

The new MT-10 is visually recognizable by the air inlets on the front of the 17 liter tank. The enlarged inlets on both sides of the fuel tank increase the intake efficiency and play a major role in the performance increase of the 2022 engine. The new front with the new double LED headlights with separate high and low beam units is also striking. Above this, new wing-shaped LED daytime running lights are spread out in the mini fairing. The Japanese have shrunk the LED rear light unit.

The new, more comfortable seat bench and the newly shaped tank in the knee area should provide improved ergonomics. The four-piston brake system with 320 discs known from the R1 has been upgraded with a Brembo radial pump. The electronics also improved. An adjustable speed limiter is intended to help you comply with speed limits. A quickshifter with blipper function is now standard on board.

Upgraded electronics arsenal

A new 4.2-inch display in the cockpit provides information on all functions of the MT-10. The TFT screen was adapted from the R1. It is controlled by switch units on both handlebar fittings. Another new feature is the electronic throttle, which gives the MT-10 four selectable driving modes. With the introduction of a six-axis IMU, the MT-10 now also has a traction control that is sensitive to lean angle in five stages, an adjustable and deactivatable drift control, an adjustable and deactivatable anti-wheelie control, as well as an adjustable engine drag torque control. Of course, the ABS is now also sensitive to lean angles. The more equipment increases the ready-to-drive weight from 201 to 212 kilograms.

In three colors from February 2022

MT-10 pilots can also look forward to a new basic set-up of the fully adjustable KYB suspension elements at the front and rear as well as the Bridgestone S22 initial tires. The new Yamaha MT-10 is available in the three color options Cyan Storm, Icon Blue and Tech Black. It will roll out to dealers from February 2022. Prices have not yet been announced. There is still nothing to be heard from an SP version in the current release. But we are sure that it will follow. With an electronically controlled Öhlins chassis as a treat.

Yamaha took its time, but now the Japanese are raising the MT-10 above the Euro 5 threshold. More power and a fresh look as well as the extensively upgraded electronics are agreeable.
