All new  2022 Bimota KB4 in production, will be joined by KB4 RC in next year.

The retro-look sports bike is in production, which will be accompanied by a "Vintage Inspired" version. Unveiling scheduled for November 23 at EICMA

Bimota's retro sports bike will arrive shortly and will be officially unveiled at EICMA 2021 . After the uproar caused at EICMA 2019 with the concept , the KB4 is in production and in a press release Bimota announces that it will be joined by a "Vintage Inspired" KB4 RC
, where RC stands for Race Cafè and which easily suggests a version with a half hull and a Cafe Racer attitude. Both bikes thus integrate a line-up where the motorized Tesi H2 stands out with the refined 1,000 cc with 231 hp centrifugal compressor, taken from the supercharged lineage of Kawasak i which owns 49.9% of the Rimini brand.

The KB4 should not deviate from what we have already seen thanks to the teasers already released and the spy photos that have been around the web in the last two years: if the aesthetics are deliberately old style, the mechanics are the 1043 cc Kawasaki four-cylinder. and 142 horsepower at 10,000 rpm already in use by the Ninja 1000SX, an engine which, thanks to the maximum torque of 11.3 kgm at 8,000 rpm, should be absolutely in line with the non-extreme sports character of the KB4.

The Bimota KB4 & KB4 RC "Vintage Inspired" will be equipped with an innovative high-pressure cooling system, where the radiator will be  housed diagonally between the saddle (in real leather) and the rear wheel, OZ five-spoke alloy rims forged aluminum and Pirelli Diablo Rosso III 120 / 70ZR17 and 190 / 50ZR17 tires - excellent road sports tires but not dedicated to the track -, TFT dashboard and a complete electronic package, while the style aims to reconnect with the iconic Bimota motorcycles of the 70s like the KB1, the first Kawasaki-Bimota to see the light in 1978.

Bimota designer Enrico Borghesan stated that "The KB4 and KB4 RC look as sleek and fast as the process that created it" and "We went from the first sketch to the full-size model in just a few months using the design CAD to the computer and without losing any of the tradition that has made so many Bimota products fun to drive and look at "adding that" they will appeal to enthusiasts of all ages because design is attractive and performance satisfies ".

On the technical side, we find a steel front trellis frame with billet aluminum alloy plates , an Öhlins FG R&T 43 NIX30 fork with 130mm travel. At the rear we find a billet aluminum alloy swingarm on which an Öhlins TTX 36 single shock absorber acts with a 122mm travel, while braking is delegated to a system with a double 320mm front disc and a single 220mm rear disc. The KB4's declared dry weight is 189kg and the wheelbase is limited to 1390mm .

"No other manufacturer has a bike like Kb4 & Kb4RC" said Pierluigi Marconi General Manager of Bimota , adding that "We have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback from the public and dealers regarding the KB4 concept", while "The collective response of motorcycle enthusiasts all over the world have gone beyond our wildest expectations. Bimota will continue to amaze because the production of the KB4 and KB4 RC has not been modified and will look strikingly similar to the KB4 concept which has received rave reviews. "

All that remains is to wait until November 23 for the definitive unveiling of the 2022 Bimota news .
