Due to improper fuel injection control programming, American Honda Motor Company issued a safety recall on November 18, 2021 for all 2021 Honda NC750X DCT bikes. Honda says that all 2021 NC750X motorcycles equipped with a Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) are affected and may experience intermittent fueling issues resulting in stalling. Stalls can increase the risk of injuries and/or crashes for the rider.

Bikes affected by this recall were produced between March 18, 2021, and August 30, 2021. Approximately 357 bikes were sold in the United States. Improper programming causes insufficient fueling when stopping, or when accelerating from stops, which can cause the bikes to stall.

In accordance with Honda's chronology of incidents previously reported, occurrences have been observed in Japan, Europe, and America. Honda initially determined that it was not a safety issue, but later changed its mind after injury claims and reassessment of the risks were reported in Europe and Asia.

Honda will notify owners of the affected vehicles and ask them to take their 2021 NC750X DCTs to their nearest Honda Powersports dealer. For free, dealers will reprogram the fuel injection ECU and DCT-ECU. Owners who already experienced this issue prior to the issuance of this recall, and have had service done to fix it, may be eligible for reimbursement if they provide sufficient documentation of the repairs.

Dealers will be notified beginning November 18, 2021. On January 7, 2022, registered owners of Honda NC750X DCTs will be notified.

Customers can contact Honda Powersports customer service at 866-784-1870 for more information about this recall. Honda's recall number for this issue is KN0.
