Hello guys its me here SOURAV PANDEY in this blog we are going to talk about Yamaha Double Y concept for her thesis in collaboration with Yamaha by designer Noemi Napolitano

"Double Y" is the title of the work the young designer produced for her graduation from the IAAD, the Institute for Applied Arts and Design in Turin (Istituto d'Arte Applicata e Design). One Y stands for "Yamaha" and one for "young", which means "young" in German. In her thesis, Noemi addressed the question of how young people can get excited about motorcycles today and in the future.

Their analyzes showed that many children and young people nowadays use rather "undemanding" vehicles. The reasons for this can be practical, convenience or cost reasons. In any case, she deduced from this that the motorcycle she had designed should not give the impression of being a particularly sophisticated vehicle. She absolutely wanted to avoid associations with "difficult to drive", "inaccessible" or "complicated handling".

So she designed her concept bike not only futuristic, but above all puristic. Friendly, slim and uncomplicated - Double Y should convey these attributes. And since (digital) networking is not something that the younger generations have to learn in business seminars, but is taken for granted at a young age, the Double Y-Yamahas can network with one another. Essential needs such as communication, connectedness and belonging should be served in this way.

Forearms are on shelves

When searching for style, Noemi orientated himself on the human anatomy in order to design the motorcycle as an extension of the human body, so to speak. She took the body of an athletic swimmer as a dynamic model. Viewed from above, the panels should be reminiscent of the muscles of the human back.

The newly designed handlebars contribute to the unity of man and machine: two stubs protrude vertically - one for each hand - and the forearms are positioned on two shelves. When the motorcycle is parked, the supporting components, such as ladybird wings, fold inwards, protecting not only yourself, but also the vehicle.

Noemi Napolitano's approach to an uncomplicated electric motorcycle for young beginners is to be taken seriously in terms of aesthetics and function. Especially when you look at the e-scooters that are so popular with young people, it sounds plausible that such a vehicle must look good, but also convey the feeling of being uncomplicated and not inaccessible.
